- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, gently toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Evenly sprinkle the crumble topping over the peaches.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
- Let the crisp cool for at least 10-15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
- If peaches are very ripe, you may need less sugar.
- For a nuttier flavor, add 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumble topping.
