Description

This peach crisp recipe uses fresh peaches for a delightful dessert. It is simple to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6-8 ripe fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to peach sweetness)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Toss gently to coat the peaches.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, brown sugar, oats, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the cold butter pieces to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly.
  8. Let the peach crisp cool for a few minutes before serving. It is delicious warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • Choose ripe but firm peaches for the best flavor and texture.
  • If your peaches are very sweet, you can reduce the amount of granulated sugar in the filling.
  • For extra crunch, you can add a handful of chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts to the topping mixture.
