Description
Make this rich, creamy dessert dip that tastes just like pecan pie filling. It requires no baking and is perfect for parties or holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until fully combined and creamy.
- Fold in 1/2 cup of the chopped pecans.
- Transfer the dip mixture to a serving bowl. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- While the dip chills, prepare the praline topping. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in the granulated sugar and heavy cream. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture bubbles, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Let this mixture cool slightly for about 5 minutes.
- Pour the warm praline pecan topping over the chilled dip.
- Serve immediately or keep chilled until ready to serve.
Notes
- Serve this dip with graham crackers, apple slices, vanilla wafers, or pretzels for dipping.
- You can make the base dip up to 2 days ahead. Keep it covered in the refrigerator. Add the topping just before serving.
- For a deeper flavor, toast the pecans lightly before chopping and adding them to the dip or topping.
