Description

A salty and tangy margarita recipe featuring pickle brine and an optional chamoy rim.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Tequila Blanco
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 0.75 oz Triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.75 oz Pickle brine (from dill pickles)
  • 0.25 oz Agave nectar (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Chamoy sauce for rim
  • Tajin seasoning for rim
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Roll the rim in a mixture of chamoy sauce and Tajin seasoning.
  2. Combine tequila, lime juice, triple sec, pickle brine, and agave nectar (if using) in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Shake well until thoroughly chilled.
  5. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila with 2 oz of sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirit.
  • Adjust the amount of pickle brine based on your preference for saltiness and tang.
  • Use brine from dill pickles, not sweet or bread-and-butter pickles.
