Description
Make this Quick Pico de Gallo Salsa for your next party! It brings fresh flavor and comes together fast, just like we do things at 911Recipes. You can serve this bright salsa with chips, tacos, or grilled meats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (use more or less to your heat preference)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
- Dice your tomatoes into small, even pieces. Put them in a medium bowl.
- Finely chop the white onion and add it to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- Seed your jalapeño if you prefer less heat, then mince it finely. Add it to the mixture.
- Chop the fresh cilantro and stir it into the bowl.
- Squeeze the fresh juice from one lime over the ingredients.
- Sprinkle the salt and pepper over everything.
- Gently stir all the ingredients together until they are just combined. Do not overmix.
- Taste the salsa. Adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Cover the bowl and let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes before serving so the flavors meld.
Notes
- For the best flavor, use ripe, firm tomatoes.
- If you want a milder salsa, remove all seeds and white membranes from the jalapeño.
- Savana suggests making this just before your guests arrive for the freshest taste.
- You can make this recipe ahead of time, but the best texture is achieved within a few hours of preparation.
