Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box white cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/4 cups water
- Red food coloring
- Blue food coloring
- White frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, oil, and water. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Leave one bowl plain. Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to the other until desired colors are reached.
- Spoon alternating dollops of each color batter into the prepared pan.
- Swirl the colors gently with a knife or toothpick to create a marble effect. Be careful not to overmix.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost the cake with white frosting.
Notes
- You can use any brand of white cake mix.
- Adjust food coloring quantities to get your desired shades of red and blue.
- Do not over-swirl the batter, or the colors will blend too much.
