Description
A straightforward recipe for making tender and slightly crispy roasted cauliflower using your oven.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head cauliflower
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Remove the outer leaves from the cauliflower and cut the head into uniform florets, about 1 to 1.5 inches in size.
- Place the cauliflower florets in a large bowl.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the florets.
- Sprinkle the salt, pepper, and garlic powder over the cauliflower. Toss everything together until the florets are evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned cauliflower in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding the pan for best crisping.
- Roast for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring halfway through the cooking time.
- Continue roasting until the edges are lightly browned and the cauliflower is tender when pierced with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and serve immediately as a side dish.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, use two baking sheets instead of one to ensure the cauliflower is in a single layer with space between pieces.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper with the other seasonings.
- For a Mediterranean flavor, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the finished cauliflower before serving.
