Description

This Rosemary Goat Cheese Tart is an elegant appetizer that’s surprisingly easy to make. It features a savory tart shell filled with creamy whipped goat cheese and fresh rosemary. It’s perfect for entertaining and will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
  3. Score a 1/2-inch border around the edges of the pastry with a sharp knife, being careful not to cut all the way through. Prick the center of the pastry all over with a fork.
  4. Brush the scored border with the beaten egg wash.
  5. In a medium bowl, whip together the goat cheese, cream cheese, chopped rosemary, olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  6. Spread the whipped goat cheese mixture evenly over the center of the puff pastry, within the scored border.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  8. Let the tart cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add a drizzle of honey over the finished tart for a touch of sweetness.
  • Other herbs like thyme or chives can be substituted or added.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a clove of minced garlic to the goat cheese mixture.
