Description
Learn how to make aromatic rosemary tea using fresh or dried rosemary leaves. This guide provides simple steps for brewing a flavorful herbal infusion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves OR 1 sprig fresh rosemary (about 3 inches long)
- 8 ounces water
- Optional: 1 teaspoon honey or lemon slice
Instructions
- Boil 8 ounces of water in a small saucepan or kettle.
- If using fresh rosemary, lightly crush the leaves or sprig to release oils.
- Place the rosemary (fresh or dried) into a mug.
- Pour the hot water over the rosemary.
- Cover the mug to retain heat and steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Steeping longer results in a stronger flavor.
- Strain the leaves out or remove the sprig.
- Add honey or lemon to taste, if desired.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a stronger infusion, use 1.5 teaspoons of dried rosemary or two sprigs of fresh rosemary per 8 ounces of water.
- If you use fresh rosemary, you can harvest it directly from your garden.
- Store unused dried rosemary in an airtight container away from light and heat.
- This tea can be served hot or chilled for iced tea.
