Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound angel hair pasta
- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- Season shrimp lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using); cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Pour white wine (or broth) into the skillet; bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits.
- Stir in fresh lemon juice.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Toss in the cooked pasta and most of the fresh parsley.
- Toss everything together until the pasta is coated in the sauce.
- Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve immediately, garnished with remaining parsley.
Notes
- Angel hair pasta cooks very quickly, so start your sauce when the pasta is almost done.
- For a richer sauce, you can substitute heavy cream for half of the wine/broth.
- You can use pre-cooked shrimp if you are very short on time, adding them just to warm through at the end.
