Description

A refreshing and easy homemade sparkling strawberry lemonade recipe perfect for a summer drink. Made with fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and sparkling water.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 3-4 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups cold sparkling water or club soda
  • Ice
  • Fresh mint sprigs or lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the quartered strawberries and sugar.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the sugar is dissolved. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let the strawberry mixture cool slightly.
  4. Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing the solids with a spoon to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.
  5. Add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher with the strawberry syrup. Stir to combine.
  6. Add the cold sparkling water to the pitcher. Stir gently.
  7. Fill glasses with ice. Pour the sparkling strawberry lemonade over the ice.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs or lemon slices if desired.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sugar based on the sweetness of your strawberries and your personal preference.
  • For a less sweet drink, you can use less sugar or substitute with a sugar alternative.
  • If you don’t have sparkling water, you can use plain cold water, but it won’t be sparkling.
  • You can make the strawberry syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For a smoother lemonade, you can blend the cooked strawberry mixture before straining.
