Description

A quick and flavorful stir-fry featuring tender shrimp and crisp broccoli in a zesty garlic sauce with a hint of spice. Perfect for a weeknight dinner when you want something delicious and easy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (or more, to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, and sriracha. Set aside.
  2. In another small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender-crisp.
  6. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  7. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the shrimp and broccoli. Stir to combine.
  8. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens.
  9. Serve immediately over cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level.
  • You can substitute other vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or carrots.
  • For a thicker sauce, add an extra teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with a tablespoon of water.
