Description
Make easy, no-bake cereal bars featuring Lucky Charms cereal dyed green for a festive St. Patrick’s Day snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 package (10 ounces) marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon green food coloring (gel preferred)
- 6 cups Lucky Charms cereal
- 1 cup extra Lucky Charms marshmallows (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the green food coloring until the mixture is uniformly green.
- Add the Lucky Charms cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir quickly until the cereal is fully coated.
- Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan. If using extra marshmallows, sprinkle them over the top immediately and gently press them down.
- Let the treats cool completely, about 1 hour, before cutting into squares.
- Cut into desired serving sizes.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for a more intense green color without thinning the marshmallow mixture.
- If the mixture is too stiff to stir, return the pan to very low heat for a few seconds, stirring constantly.
- For easy removal, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the entire block of treats out before cutting.
