Simple appetizer featuring sliced steak on toasted bread.

- 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound sirloin steak
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Brush both sides of the baguette slices lightly with olive oil.
- Bake the bread for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until lightly golden and crisp. Set aside.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper.
- Cook the steak in a hot skillet to your desired doneness, about 3 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Rub the toasted bread lightly with the cut side of the minced garlic.
- Top each crostini slice with a piece of sliced steak.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute sirloin with flank steak or tenderloin.
- For extra flavor, rub the steak with a small amount of butter while cooking.
