Description

This Szechuan Garlic Shrimp & Broccoli recipe is a quick and flavorful stir-fry that you can make in just 15 minutes. It features tender shrimp and crisp broccoli coated in a spicy, garlicky Szechuan sauce. Perfect for a busy weeknight meal that tastes like it took all day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or chili garlic sauce (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, Sriracha, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until pink and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  6. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the shrimp and broccoli.
  7. Stir and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  8. Serve immediately over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic and ginger.
  • If you don’t have Sriracha, you can use chili paste or any other hot sauce you enjoy.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
