Description

A recipe to recreate the popular moist and flavorful honey butter salmon served at Texas Roadhouse.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or prepare your grill for medium heat.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to create the seasoning blend.
  4. Rub the olive oil over both sides of the salmon fillets.
  5. Sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over the top side of each fillet.
  6. For baking: Place the salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  7. For grilling: Place the salmon skin-side down on the preheated grill grates. Grill for 5 to 7 minutes, then carefully flip and grill for another 3 to 5 minutes until cooked through.
  8. While the salmon cooks, mix the melted butter, honey, and lemon juice in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  9. Once the salmon is cooked, brush the honey butter glaze generously over the top of each fillet.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a closer flavor match, use a small amount of liquid smoke in the butter glaze if you are baking the salmon.
  • Serve this salmon with a side of steamed green beans and a baked sweet potato for a complete meal.
  • Do not overcook the salmon; it should remain moist inside.
