Description
Make juicy grilled beef burgers at home. This simple recipe uses basic ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, condiments)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- In a medium bowl, gently mix the ground beef, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
- Form the beef mixture into four equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help prevent them from bulging while cooking.
- Place the patties on the preheated grill.
- Grill for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, 5-6 minutes per side for medium, or 6-7 minutes per side for medium-well. Adjust cooking time based on your desired level of doneness.
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute or two of grilling.
- Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill during the last minute of cooking, if desired.
- Assemble the burgers on the toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest burgers.
- Do not press down on the patties while grilling, as this will squeeze out the juices.
- Let the patties rest for a minute or two after grilling before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
