Description

This Moist Banana Bread with Walnuts recipe is perfect for using up those ripe bananas. It’s easy to make, incredibly moist, and packed with a delicious nutty flavor. A comforting treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas well.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Mix in the baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Stir in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
  • For extra moisture, you can add 1/4 cup of sour cream or yogurt to the batter.
  • Toast the walnuts lightly before adding them for a richer flavor.
  • If you don’t have walnuts, pecans or almonds also work well.
