Description

A rich, layered, no-bake chocolate pie featuring a cookie crust, creamy chocolate filling, and whipped topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter. Press mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Chill for 15 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add 1/2 cup milk and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the instant chocolate pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Gently fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Fold in half of the thawed whipped topping and the chopped pecans, if using.
  6. Spread the chocolate filling evenly over the chilled crust.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  8. Before serving, spread the remaining whipped topping over the pie. Garnish with chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Use Oreo cookie crumbs instead of chocolate wafers for a different crust flavor.
  • For a frozen version, freeze the pie for 4 hours after spreading the filling, then top with ice cream instead of whipped topping.
  • You can substitute instant vanilla pudding mix and add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder for a lighter chocolate flavor.
