- 6 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Toss gently to coat the pears evenly.
- Pour the pear mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using your fingers or a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the pear mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the pear filling is bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
